Howdy,
Looks like my login is still good from the old days
I have been reading some threads and will be digging into more
Anyone currently out there interested in having a conversation about AK bayonets ?
Been gone a while, back and looking to chat about bayonets

i am selling my collection off, and writing Collectors Guide as I do, so I am looking to chat with folks on those topics mostly
Unless there are other AK Bayo topics that are worth talking about

I am also retiring from collecting and selling my collection off. I will remain as a moderator here as I also enjoy sharing information and pictures of AK bayonets. I would be glad to share info and pics as you create your Collectors Guide. We have a lot of members here and have pretty much covered the spectrum of AK Bayonets including a lot of minor variations. However, always something new to learn. Mike

thank you
My concern for the collectors guide is "how much to include" in the first edition
I know there is enough info to fill volumes, but I don't want their first taste to be too much to absorb
So, I am debating adding the R4, NSAS, Valmet, etc to keep it true Kalashnikov
But, that chops off such an interesting portion (and Martin included them in his book)
Any thoughts?

Yes, MDI and many other AK Bayonet references include those and the Czech Vz58 series. The Vz58 is not a Kalashnikov, but the rifle looks like one and the Czechs were included in the ComBloc countries during the Cold War years.
I personally draw the line at non-bayonet edged weapons. No survival knives, fighting knives, diving knives, machetes, etc.. Mike

Hard line to draw, as many of us consider AK related to be fairly broad. VZ58, Valmet, Insas etc for example.
I would include them if it were me, as most who collect AK bayos include those.
I would also draw the line at those that aren't weapon mounted.
Good luck, will be following the project.
