Re: Russian AKM 6X3 Type I -II Transitional Bayonets and Scabbards
Very nice for a BFPU example. It appears to be a transitional version of a Russian Izhevsk AKM 6X3 Type I in a Type II scabbard. It is very unusual to find a very used one that has no numbers, either original or re-work. The hanger and strap are not original or correct but have been replaced at some point. It also appears that the scabbard has been repainted at some point indicating reconditioning. The bayonet appears to be an older version or has had the grips and release button replaced. The circular ridges on the button are an early style. Mr. B.

Very nice example! I am envious. I never have owned one of these.
Now you have to find the Tula version of the transitional. They have the 6X4 Type II bayonets in the 6X3 Type I scabbards with the original matching numbers. They are even rarer? Mike
