I was going through an old picture album recently. I found these pictures we took in the late 1960s at the John M. Browning Museum in the Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, USA. Certainly not a Kalashnikov rifle, but definitely an AK bayonet.
This originally was a US M14 rifle used in South Vietnam. It was captured by the North Vietnamese and several modification were made to convert it for their own use. This included modifying a Chinese Type 56 folding bayonet and mount to fit and function on the M14. Later this rifle was re-captured by allied troops and sent to the RIA for evaluation and display. Mr. B.
