Romanian 6X4 for Africa

Post by Marco »

Hi!

Received my last parcel today. Seems to be a Romanian (tool prints on the blade, particular leather, particular wire cutter plate, and awful material for the handle).

Arabic numbers on hilt and scabbard (no match). What are you thinking about?

Very Interesting bayonet and scabbard. Good observations on the different Identification points. However, the numbers are Arabic, indicating origin and/or usage in the Middle East.
I do not have a similar example, but I have seen many pictures of similar variations, with and without sawteeth. I would suggest you should look at all the posts on this Forum under the heading; “Egypt”. There are lots interesting pictures and opinions. My humble opinion is under the post; “Re: Romanian made Egyptian AKM Type II Bayonet”.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for quick reply. I had a problem because in M.Ivie book this model is "first model Irak".

I agree with you for a contract Romania/Egypt for exportation.
