Polish 6H4 type Scabbard Insulator Variation

Postby Mr. B. » Fri Jan 01, 2016 4:06 am

This is a Polish 6H4 Type II bayonet and scabbard with an unusual late issue, long style black rubber scabbard insulator. Note that it is noticeably longer than the common insulators and there is no insulator stop on the scabbard. I have heard that this is for new version of the Polish AKM (Archer) or for perhaps for a combat knife similar to the Hungarian scout fighting knife version. It is shown in a couple of my Polish reference books, but the application is unclear. M.
