i can never seem to find any that are in plum.

Shine a bright light on many of the "black" ones and they become plum :-)

The bright lite does help, but sunlight seems to be best. Here are two of my Russian plums along with a black for comparison. Hint, to help identify the plums in my display, I keep brown hangers on the plums and black ones on the black ones. Note, one of the plums in these pictures is the early variation with the narrow cross guard. Also note that the ridges on the grip area are a different shape as well. M.
