Post by mill_speer »

My VZ.58
It got lost in the mail or was stolen.
Since it is something special, I would like to introduce it.

Best regards

Sorry for your loss. Appears to be a VZ58 Type 1 that has had the grips replaced with non-standard rivet placement. The scabbard is very unique. I have never seen one like that. Very neat addition of metal band reinforcement at the scabbard throat, both front and back. I believe this to be a non-standard addition or repair. The rivets are not like the others used by the Czechs on any of their field gear I have seen. Perhaps the grips and the scabbard bands are an individual or field repair instead of an arsenal or authorized depot repair/rework. Mike

Nobody used it as a private knife.
The blade is not sharpened.
I am also thinking of an unofficial tolerated repair

Als Privatmesser hat es wohl keiner verwendet.
Die Klinge ist nicht scharf geschliffen.
Ich denke auch an eine nicht offizielle geduldete Reparatur

Beste Grüsse
