Re: Nobody here, what's wrong?
Hi Brian,
Do you mean like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/195320855504
is there a way to send just my seller information? I would prefer to just mail in the USA. Packaging and mailing international is a lot of extra expense and time for me.

Re: Nobody here, what's wrong?
Yes, I am still alive, (barely), and here. Just standing by if anyone has any questions or something to share. Not much is happening with Kalashnikov Bayonets. Nothing new available and the few items I would like to collect are out of my price range. I will try to liven things up a little. I am star...

Re: AK47 Bayonets
Both are East German, (DDR), AK47 6X2 bayonets and scabbards. The scabbards have both been reworked and the original rivets drilled out and replaced with removable ones to be able to clean the inside and the tensioners. One seems to have the original style hanger with the black rivet. The other one ...

Re: Hungarian AKM 6x3 Type 1 export bayonet
I disagree with Marco's opinion about your bayonet not being a commercial or export version. Here are the reasons I believe it is. The original Hungarian issue bayonets and scabbards had unique features. The bayonet grip panels were a different material and were marbled. The scabbard would have a ma...

Re: Warsaw pact knives
Very nice collection, excellent display! I have no ComBloc knives, but thanks for asking. Yes, I am also interested in all ComBloc weapons, uniforms and equipment including military knives. I have some knowledge of the knives and they are included in some of my reference material. However, I prefer ...

AKM Wire Cutter Plate Variations
After following the previous topic/post here I would like to present an observation I made there. The previous topic concerned the Izhevsk logo variations. I enjoyed seeing and comparing all the submitted pictures. While studying Furtium's pictures I noticed something else unusual. In one of his fir...

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
Hi Marco, To answer your question, probably not. The Russian AKM Type II bayonets and scabbards have used different numbers of digits, different styles and placement over the production years. This also varies by arsenal, Tula vs Izhevsk. These markings and minor variations are not of much concern t...

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
A couple of things to note on the above drawing. The triangle is an isosceles. Also this reference showed the progression of Russian arsenal mark. The original mark for izhevsk was a stylized bow and arrow. Following the archery theme an arrow always had one different colored fletching so that the a...

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
I found this drawing in a Russian military reference book. I believe it is the original specifications for the Izhevsk Arsenal identification marking. The text was in Cyrillic and I was unable to translate. It is possible that over the years it was simplified when making small detailed dies and mold...

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
Thanks Gerhard. Now we know that they are official and the approximate time periods when they were made. However, we still do not know why or what they represent, if anything. Looking at the pictures above it appears from the many mold numbers that there were lots of molds made with the half and hal...

This is the scabbard from my collection with the half and half arrow. Also notice the rounded corners of the triangle. Compare it to the first picture of this subject. Mike

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
Maybe Ukranian? Halfway between Russian and Romanian? Just kidding. I looked in several of my reverence books. I did not find any details about the molded Izhevsk arsenal marks, just the basic descriptions. I then checked the 31 Izzy 6X4 Type II bayonets and scabbards at my disposal. I did notice lo...

Re: Differents arrows in triangle. Need explanations...
Very interesting observation and question. My first thought was simply a detail fault during molding or perhaps a damaged or defective mold. I will have to do some inspections and research with before coming up with a more positive answer. Anyone else notice this and have any information? Mike

Hungarian AKM 6X3 Type I Export Markings
The Hungarian AKM 6X3 Type I bayonets and scabbards seem to have been exported all over the world. Most of the last commercial or contract bayonets are found devoid of any markings. Occasionally one is found stamped with, " MADE IN HUNGARY FEG", on the right side of the crossguard. Suppose...

Sorry, there are times that my brain and fingers do not operate at the same speed. Sometimes not on the same page or even in the same time zone. I'll post pictures of the markings on a 1759 Polish AK47 bayonet for you to enjoy. Mike
