Mike,
I have 1957 A00025, 1958 A00802, 1958 A34597, and 1970 11112. BTW, the 1970 hanger is riveted instead of sewn and the thorn is brass and the 1957 hanger is dark brown leather instead of natural tan. I need a scabbard and hanger for 1958 A00802.

Re: Yugoslavian AKM 6X4 Type II bayonet & Scabbard
Mike,
You pose some very plausible explanations, as always. Thanks for he bead blasting tip.
My source for cheap Yugo bayonets wasn't at the show today, so my test will have to wait.
Dragur2791,
glad you got this at normal Yugo pricing.

Re: Yugoslavian AKM 6X4 Type II bayonet & Scabbard
The price on the EBAY unit is definitely debatable, especially if the source is who I think it is.
Also, this effect could be produced starting with an original finish and using light sand paper or better yet, tape off the metal and a light grit sand blaster on low pressure. Like many of the "rare ...

That plastic type East German hanger is fairly rare. To add to the numbers, I have a red handle with the number 21.

Re: Czech VZ58 Leather Scabbards Variations
Interesting stuff. I thought you posted a picture of a left hand scabbard recently. Need to look and see if I can find who posted that and where. I am still looking for a white scabbard and a gray NBC scabbard for my collection. I have a variety of 5 and 6 rivet leather scabbards dating from 1961 to ...

Re: Collection for sale
I don't know of one with a firing mechanism in the US in a private collection. It would have to be registered similar to how a machine gun or suppressor is registered. For the US National Firearms Act of 1934 augmented by the Gun Control Act of 1968 it would be defined as "Any Other Weapon". If I ...

Re: Collection for sale
He has some great stuff, just overpriced in my opinion. If he splits it out I'd be interested in the NRS and the Turkish 6X3. Upgrade the NRS in my collection and the Turkish I don't have.

No word on Bill's collection. I think I used one of Bill's gray scabbards for my book. Wouldn't sell or trade one to me either .

Frank,
I don't have a 6X9. Also, I am sure the BG is well out of my current price range. Appreciate the offer.

Have had two or three of the green ones over the years but always seem to miss the gray ones, get outbid, etc.

Okay, original early strap that someone just added a buckle. One strap I'm missing from my collection because of a novice mistake when I first started collecting years ago.

Re: Israeli bayonet
Mike, as to why mark them in the first place, the Israeli military like most militaries in the world has a lot of control freaks. REMF's tend to be the biggest control freaks in my experience. I have Israeli AK cleaning kits with the Tsadeh stamped on them. That said, I won't pay a premium for a ...

Re: Czech VZ58 Bayonet 3 basic Variations
Mike,
Just re-read through this series of posts. Prompted me to check my (very late dated) VZ58 armorer's kit. Noted I only have Type 3 replacement grip panels in this particular kit. I busted the seal on it so I know this is the original state of the kit. Would you happen to have an extra set of ...

The oval 11 and 1958 are sometimes not very deep stampings, so I can see it getting scrubbed off during a refurb.
