Hi, I just received this (Polish) bayonet, which I initially hought was a Beryl. Being relatively new to collecting AK bayonets, I only found out thateryl bayonets don't have the stud below the muzzle ring like on the regular Polish 6H4. Also, the handle on this one seems to be rather crude compared to what seems to be common on Beryls. Has anyone seen this before, or could it be a custom made/3D printed handle on a regular 6H4? Would like to hear some opinions. Hans

Thanks Mike. Above some pictures. The camera on my cell phone doesn't capture detail very well, so will try to make some better pictures in daylight later.

Hi Hans, Yes, it appears to a correct black Polish AKM 6H4. Some refer to them as Beryl bayonet.Actually there are several variations of this black bayonet. They are not necessarily for the Beryl, but part of the development. Differences in the blade tang behind the muzzle ring. Differences in molding the grip and the material used. Some grips are molded directly on the tang and cross guard. Some actually have sawteeth (6x4) version.
Check this link, especially the second page: viewtopic.php?t=84&start=20
Your bayonet grip does seem a little rough, but they were experimenting with these series for commercial, export and internal usage. Cheers, Mike

3D printed grip, not real one, so it's a just a standard 6h4 bayonet with homade 3d printed grip remplaced :/
Re: Polish 6H4? What are your thoughts?
Yes, it could be some backyard Bubba messing around with a 3D printer. However, it could also be a valid experimental piece as they are testing different materials and processes. Testing the fit and dimensions before marking new molds? After all they were experimenting with molding the grip directly on the tang, etc..
Appearance wise, not my cup of tea. Already too many of these “Black / Beryl” variations already out there. Mike
