Russian AKM 6X4 Type 5 Bayonet and Scabbard

I found these pictures of a Russian AKM 6X4 Type 5 bayonet and scabbard on line. Thought I'd share them here for reference.
These are the bayonets made by TsNII Tochmash. They started with a Izhevsk 6X4 Type II or III blade and cross guard assembly with a slightly different tang shape. TochMash used a new material for the grip which they molded directly to the blade tang. They then attached a Izhevsk 6X4 Type III cast lightened pommel. The scabbard appears to be a regular or long version of a 6X4 scabbard made by Izhevsk. These bayonet were made up for testing and field trials in 1986, but never accepted. They have been seen molded in a dark brown which is the natural color of the material used for the grips. They are also found in black and green. The green ones for use by border guard units and presentation? Mike

By the way, the Type 5 is exactly the same as the AKM 6X4 Type 4, but with the cast lightened pommel as used on a Type III.

Here are pictures of the green and brown versions. The scabbards appear to be either the long version of the 6X4 or the 6X5. The have the Izhevsk mark, but may have been molded with different material by either Izhevsk or TochMash using Izhevsk molds and parts. MIke

Here are some interesting scabbard comparisons involving a TochMash green, 6X4 Type 4 or 5 scabbard. Left to right below, 1. Izhevsk AK74 6X5 Type III early Plum. 2. TochMash, (Izhevsk) 6x4 Type 4 or 5. 3. Izhevsk AK74 6x5 Type III late Black. 4. Standard Izhevsk AKM 6X4. Notice the different lengths, different mold marks and absence of mold marks. Mike

I have a 6x4 type 3 (lightened pommel) with a plum scabbard with no mold number/mark like the one on the left of your picture Mike.

Notice the back bump on the plum and green scabbards appear to be the same shape and the bump on the black scabbard is very different from them.
