Looking for a Polish Type 1
Would like to have a Polish Type 1 to add to my collection.
Prefer VG condition with matching #'s. Thank you!

Re: Looking for a Polish Type 1
Even in Poland, I have been struggling to find them with matching numbers. Mismatched, you can find a few.
I have someone there, and will see what I can do.

Re: Looking for a Polish Type 1
Brian is correct. I have found a few force matched like the one on EBAY at this time. I have a non-serial numbered Brown grip knife in a serial numbered scabbard and a serial numbered orange grip knife in a non-serial numbered scabbard in my collection. Yes, I know I could do a mx and match, but I generally prefer to keep my bayonets as bought. Only exception is if I get one with a hanger from a different country, then I will change to the correct hanger if I have one.

Re: Looking for a Polish Type 1
A while ago, one seller in Poland had about 50 of the 1st patterns for sale, and had them listed as non matching, and (working through a Polish friend) I sent a message asking him if I could pay a bit more for each of them, for him to go through them and find any that were matching.
The answer came back that basically, he couldn't be bothered to look through them...so no.

I have two Polish type 1 bayonets in very nice condition and with matching numbers available. I will take some pics and post them.

Re: Looking for a Polish Type 1
I'm like MDI, these 6H3 bayonets can be difficult to find in good shape, especially matching numbers. I seem to remember seeing pictures of piles of them at one time several years ago, but have never seen them hit the streets for sale in any quantities. I display four of them in my collection as representative examples. They all have hangers and straps with assorted variations They may or may not have come with the respective bayonets as some came without and others were upgraded from my supply to display different variations, (color, edging, rivets, sewn vs rivet, etc.). See pictures under topic Polish 6H3 "Type I" Handles.
1. Black with red flecks, painted scabbard, Matching #s 03542.
2. Brown #20730, blued scabbard (Early?) #12437.
3. Brown/orange #03933, painted scabbard w/flat rivets, No #, (newer replacement?).
3. Marbled orange, no #, painted scabbard, no #. unissued.
I would be willing to trade or buy examples to upgrade to matching numbers or to help someone else on #2 or #3. I would like to keep the blued scabbard as MDI noted that this was early and if that is correct it should be with a corresponding early Black grip bayonet???? Mike

Hi Brian,
Price would have to be in the €90,- (about $100,-) region.

Grardus,
Price isn't bad...those look in great condition. Just a bit more than I can go for right now, but suggest anyone looking for one goes for it. They are not getting any more common.
