Type 65s/84s bayonet
I received two T56s, this is one of them, and it should take about another two weeks before I receive the other one with a copper nail.
Re: Type 65s/84s bayonet
Nice clean example. This one has the hand etched number on the cross guard indicating it was paired with a rifle when imported in the USA. I prefer to call these Chinese AKM bayonets. The Type 56 refers to the military issue bayonets.
These AKM bayonets were made for the civilian export / import market. There is a wide variation to these bayonets not made to military specifications. Mike

Mr. B, this AKM bayonet is very rare in China, thanks to American collectors who provided it.Mr. B. wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:21 pm Nice clean example. Very nice!
Re: Type 65s/84s bayonet
Excellent examples! Now you need a black and a green one? Mike
Re: Type 65s/84s bayonet
Now you can also enjoy finding the metal belt clips that go with them. There are many variations of these. Also watch for other variations in construction for example slotted vs Phillips pommel screws. Have fun, but remember there are no end to variations on these bayonets and scabbards. No military standards / specifications. Cheers, Mike
Re: Type 65s/84s bayonet
Remember way back in the 90's when we imported Type 56's from China. Ordered a few boxes of bayonets and I think they probably cost us around $12 each back then. Had red and black. Wish I was collecting bayonets back then. I had to hunt them down in later years, buying them from people who had bought them from me.
Never came with clips, but there were some pin variations.
