AK Variant identification

For discussing anything Kalashnikov related, that does not concern bayonets

AK Variant identification

Postby Brian » Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:29 pm

Hi all,
Sadly, only a deact. Although by the sounds of things....VERY minimal deactivation.... I have not seen it yet and only have this pic.
I'm not an AK variant expert. I assume it's a version of the RPK, but what confuses me is I cannot find a pic of an RPK with that receiver style. The way it is narrowed at the rear.
Curious if someone can id it for me?

Thanks,
Brian

Ilian,
Thanks very much. I thought it might be a Yugo rifle, but when I checked some pics, I only saw the regular receiver version and so thought it was something else.
Now I'm able to find examples of this version. Thanks for the help.

Yep, what ilian posted.
I have a few of these milled Yugo M72 parts kits and the M64 version too.
