Re: 6x9-1 bayonet and 6x9 combat knife

Just added an absolute gem. The Kampo ShN-2 trail prototype bayonet with existing accessories. This is the pre runner of the 6x9-1 bayonet. I don’t know how many of these were made, but to have one in my hand seems unbelieveable! There has been made quite a few changes in the design comparing to the...

Re: Unusual East German ?? AK Bayonet

Also the chinese commercial bayonets has never been sold with usual leather hangers or fabric straps. They came only with a metal belt clip hanger. The metal belt clip hangers are actually more rare than the actual bayonets to some degree.

Re: Unusual East German ?? AK Bayonet

What you got in front of you is a common black chinese commercial pre ban bayonet. For some reason the former owner thought it should have an EG rubber insulator installed on it.
Apart from the funny mismatch of parts it looks to be a nice looking black chinese.

Re: 6x9-1 bayonet and 6x9 combat knife

I think this conflict could shed a bit of light on this topic that you mention Brian. Of course I hope it ends today, but things are heating up and it could end up being a prolonged thing..
the 6x9-1 is certainly not a widespread used item (yet)

Re: 6x9-1 bayonet and 6x9 combat knife

Captured equipmemt from the members of the 76th guards air assault division of the Russian forces, last night, 27th Feb 2022, outskirts of Kyiv.

Looks like there will be some sort of flow of 6x9’s into the market at some point.

Thats the thing with these conflicts..

Re: border guard bayonet

This is the second one. Serialized 4930. This bayonet shows a more obvious force matching of the scabbard. Existing numbers are stamped over and new ones applied. I dont see older numbers underneath the new ones. Inspection marks on the cross guard are even more faint on this example. I see an “M” s...

Re: border guard bayonet

Here is the first one in detail. Serial number is 2573 and at close observation it is visible that the scabbard was renumbered to match the bayonet. Old numberd can be seen. The bayonet has very faint stampings on the side of cross guard. I see a <cb> faint stamping and an oval circle 11. The blade ...

Re: border guard bayonet

Here are my two current border guard bayonets in all their green glory. Each of em has some interesting details to observe. It is my theory that these were developed before the 6x4 plastic scabbard came into place and therefore these are paired and matched with repainted/existing 6x3 scabbards. They...

Re: Odd scabbard

Hi Mike, A gentleman contacted med asking for info on it. He was excited to know more. The only info is that it was obtained in Ukraine. For me its completely new item with interesting design. The gentleman does not own a bayonet intended for this scabbard. My first thought was “prototype”… Hopefull...

Very nice 6x3 bayo indeed! I like the stamping of the numbers on the cross guard. To me that looks unusual.
