Re: Croatian AK inspired bayonet for the VHS-2 rifle

Agree with Mike, not really an AK related one, but a very nice bayonet anyways, very good info and pics from Marko. Thanks Marko, I would gladly add one of these to my general bayonet collection. I suppose it will be a while before any "leak out" I'll move this to the off-topic section, bu...

Re: Romanian Type II variations

I have a few letters.
Still no idea why some had letters and some had logos. I think we need to post pics of all the known letters.

Came from a SA source? I only know of one source and they are about double to triple what I sold my most expensive one for.

RIP Carl Ziegler

Carl ran the excellent website Old-Smithy and had an incredible amount of AK Bayo info way back before anyone else. http://www.old-smithy.info/ I am sure many of you knew him or chatted bayonets. Myself and Carl chatted a lot while Martin was writing his book, and we both contributed some info. He p...

Re: World Wide Pandemic

Today, the entire South Africa went into a strict 21 day lockdown. Not allowed out of the house unless for food shopping or medicine. Only essential people can be on the roads, army and police patrolling. NO alcohol may be purchased or transported anywhere. If you want it, it better be in your home ...

Re: Russian Kalashnikov Bayonet Chronology

Been offered, but the price is waaay out there. Over 1200 Euro.
Not yet. One of these days.... First I want to acquire a mechanism for my NRS or NRS2.
Good work Mike. Next would be a simplified illustrated version of your chart, maybe a small pdf :-)

Re: Supporting this forum

Just a gentle nudge a year later. Just paid out around $100, which is a lot for a South African. I'm ok with funding this..the although we are not the most active forum out there, there is only so much new info that can be posted and I think we have accumulated more than anywhere out there. But if a...

Re: 1980's 'Trench Art'

Well done personalization. I'm guessing this would be done on a non-official bayonet...maybe one already "liberated" from the arsenal or picked up in a market etc. Doubt you could get away with doing that on an issued bayonet.

This isn't a hectically busy forum, but I do think we host some of the best info on these bayonets anywhere online.

Re: INSAS

I think they are a private company contracted out to make the bayonets for the Indian army. The ones we see are likely overruns, but I do not think commercially made. Jeremy Tenniswood in the UK may know more as he sold/released many if not most of the ones we see today, over 15 years ago. He must h...
