Re: WTS bayonet display stands AKM,AK-74,SVD design
Aside from the ones that Niclas does, has anyone come across any 3D print files for other rifles? I am looking for Lee Enfield No 4, Lee Enfield No 1 (SMLE), Mauser K98 and a few others.I am sure they are out there, or even decent full size rifle files that can be modded. Galil/R4 would be good. As ...

Re: WTS bayonet display stands AKM,AK-74,SVD design
Wonderful products!
Not really practical to purchase them, as shipping to SA is impossible. Our postal services are not really functional and courier is too expensive.
I've been looking for 3D prints of muzzle ends to do this myself. Great idea and good luck.

Re: AK Variant identification
Ilian,
Thanks very much. I thought it might be a Yugo rifle, but when I checked some pics, I only saw the regular receiver version and so thought it was something else.
Now I'm able to find examples of this version. Thanks for the help.

AK Variant identification
Hi all, Sadly, only a deact. Although by the sounds of things....VERY minimal deactivation.... I have not seen it yet and only have this pic. I'm not an AK variant expert. I assume it's a version of the RPK, but what confuses me is I cannot find a pic of an RPK with that receiver style. The way it i...

Re: Red/orange Serbian 6X4s?
Seller told me after an enquiry that it appears to be a coating. Hence I think these are outright fakes, and likely removed to Cerakote or something. I'll be passing on them. Don't think this is official anything.

Re: Do you think this can be repaired?
Well done. And just to clarify, the title of the thread was meant to be humorous. Just a joke. There is no way or reason to repair this. I like it as is anyways, makes a nice display. May shadowbox it. Even possible that it was gathered with weapons etc after a firefight where it got the bullet hole...

Do you think this can be repaired?
Got this with some unrelated custom knives from a collection a few days. At first I considered it junk. But the more I look at it, the more I like it. Will make a nice display. I expect it was "captured" during our border war and that the previous owner no longer needed it. Maybe explosion...

Re: Need Yugo Locking Catch
Huge thanks to Mike for helping with this. Great to get the bayo complete.
This one has a serialled handle, and unserialled scabbard. I see this more with Tabuks than any other bayos. I wonder if they considered one serial on the set sufficient in some arsenals.

Re: Bulgarian AKM Type II
Normally mismatched and renumbered would be less desirable and something to upgrade when you get a chance. But as Mike said, both of your number pairs match...so I think that is actually quite nice, and not a negative at all. Nice piece.

First pic seems logical and natural. I can't think of a reason why it would be worn the other way around. Just my opinion.

Re: Need Yugo Locking Catch
Mike,
Just need the button, spring and backing lock part. Pommel is fine.
I didn't know the Russian and Tabuk ones would be dimensionally different. Diameter and fit is fine, it's the depth. I'm hoping Yugo is the same as Tabuk.

Need Yugo Locking Catch
Picked up a very nice Tabuk, but missing the locking catch. All parts..the button, lock and spring. I figured I'd find a wrecked Type II bayo and use the catch. Got a Russian 6x4 and managed to remove the catch, but there are internal differences it seems. Everything fits, but when screwed down, it ...

Re: Hello i am new to bayonet collecting .
Condition, condition, condition. "Been there, done that" condition doesn't add value. Neither does stories unless they have concrete provenance. Buy the best condition ones you can find, and matching numbers. Try and upgrade your examples until you have the best ones possible. Don't be afr...

You have some excellent references on Polish bayos! On the down side...you are creating much more work for those of us trying to get all the variations    Just when you think you are making progress, along comes Mike and shows you how many more you need to look for and classify. :D
