Mike these certainly remind me of the early production North Korean AK47 bayonets.
Just a minor correction to what you state above. The Chinese did produce blade bayonets, but as far s I know, only for export.

Re: AK47 Bayonet with swastika mark ?
The Swastika, hankenkreuz, bent cross or what ever you want to call it was a Buddhist good luck symbol long before the Nazi's misappropriated it. No surprise to find it on any Asian AK bayonet. It was also the Thunderbird symbol for Indians in the American Southwest with the reverse direction being ...

Re: Hungarian AKM 6X3 Type I Modified Pommel?
Guys,
I've owned 3 AMP 69's at various times. The little protrusion in the picture at the back of the spigot people are thinking might be a bayonet lug is not. It is a spring loaded pin with a head used to lock the spigot sleeve on the barrel. Much too small to fit a bayonet, plus it is round.

Re: Polish AK47 Bayonet & Scabbard Variations
You are right Mike. 1970's do not have the A prefix. My adjusted take on rarity is as follows: P prefix 1957 rarest A prefix 1957 rare Z Prefix 1958 rare 1970 scarce A prefix 1958 common s to where non-Polish produced bayonets issued in Polish scabbards come in I would say maybe between the two 1957...

I have 3 of the blued clips and a chrome/nickel clip with different marks than shown. If I get time to do photographs I'll post. Would be willing to trade one or two of the blued clips for variations I don't have.

Re: East German AKM 6X3 Type I bayonet Modified Pommel
MIke, I have several AK74's and know exactly the issue you are referring to. I just can't see anyone issuing a 6X3 for use with an AK74 based on the timelines but they may have. A Romanian PSL is by no means an SVD clone. A PSL or FPK depending on which terminology you choose to use is an up-sized A...

Re: Regular Russian 6x4 AKM Type II - unnumbered?
That is a very nice un-issued Russian 6X4 bayonet. Somewhat rarer variants from Izhevsk include ones with large factory marks molded into the flat side of the grip towards the cross gaurd and ones with the lightened pommel (pommel narrowed where the wrist strap attaches). In the US Tula variants are...

I have an Nr dated 86, 2 Nr dated 87 (one with black rubber and one with light gray), and an ML date 88.
If someone has a different year with black or light gray rubber that they would trade for one of my 87 dated, I would be interested.

Re: East German AKM 6X3 Type II Modified Scabbard
Another interesting modification. I would not pay extra for this or the grip modification without some solid provenance (paper work and pictures) because this is too easily faked. I believe I have a picture somewhere with a DDR honor guard with the scabbard on the bayonet on the rifle. I will try to...

Re: East German AKM 6X3 Type I bayonet Modified Pommel
I have heard these were modified to go on the SVD sniper rifles. How true that is, I have no idea and I have not tried to mount an unmodified 6X3 on and SVD so I don't know that there is a problem with that.

Re: East German (DDR) AKM 6X4 Type II Serial Numbers
The last 4 DDR Orange handle bayonets I sold all went for between $150 and $180, but that was during the time when all of the DDR AK74 kits came into the US, which inflated the prices. I agree with Mr. B, in the current market a nice, near mint, matching bayonet for $125 range.

Re: Why?
The ban on importing Chinese AK's really has driven up the Chinese AK bayonet market. I am not sure they are banned too, or are just not imported in large quantities because no rifles are being imported. Mr. B. I have blown up the top picture and examined it and I am not at all certain the bayonet i...
