Thanks for replies.
I thought markings were removed because of export to different country, but removal of markings during refurbishment makes sense.

Polish AK47 (6x2) bayonet with scrubbed year and 11 in oval
Got this one from eBay, described as Polish, but only one picture in listing.
Well, it is Polish, but it has scrubbed year 1958 and 11 in oval. Serial number is A series and it is not scrubbed.
Was year 1958 and 11 in oval scrubbed, because bayonet was used in different country, not Poland?

Re: Romanian AKM 6X3 Type 1 for PSL rifle
Congratulations on your Romanian MD.63 Bayonet.
It is one of the few from the early years of manufacture.
Clean Blade, without the usual striking deep grinding marks.
As I see it, with an Acceptance stamp on the Crossguard.
Look for further Acceptance stamps.
mill_speer,
thanks for reply.

Romanian AKM 6X3 Type 1 for PSL rifle
Hello everyone,
thanks to:

I know that this bayonet was made for PSL rifle.
It has "G" prefix. Leather, both strap and hanger, are stiff and grips show some wear.
Are these considered somewhat scarce among collectors?

Re: AK47 bayonet (6x2) Russian, with wooden grips?
It does look like the Izhevsk triangle and arrow on the cross guard. Perhaps a closer look at the right side of the pommel. There should be a small flattened diamond proof mark to confirm that it is indeed Russian. I have never herad of or seen any reference to a Russian AK47 bayonet with wood ...

Rub the black paint with steel wool at the red marked area.
I think there comes the Korean star in a circle.
I think that circle you pointed out is one of the pins that are at cross guard

Re: AK47 bayonet (6x2) Russian, with wooden grips?
This one is a bit of a mystery. It would be difficult to even make an educated guess. A closer examination for markings may be helpful, but even then not conclusive. Here are some observations.
1. The grip panels appear to have been replaced at some time. They do not seem to match the wear and ...

AK47 bayonet (6x2) Russian, with wooden grips?
Hello everyone,
Here is my latest gunshow pickup. Impulse buy :err: . I think this bayonet is Russian. With wooded grips?
The bad - Blade has pitting and is sharpened. The good - I guess the only good would be that I got another bayonet. :-)
Can you guys confirm if it is Russian? Does it even have ...

Re: Questions about Romanian AKM Type I bayonet
Yes, your bayonet and scabbard are Romanian AKM 6X3 Type I. Nice condition with matching numbers indicating !968 production at the Cugir arsenal.
1. The triangular stamping on the right side of the cross guard is an arsenal proof or acceptance mark. Very nice clear marking on this one!
2. The ...

Questions about Romanian AKM Type I bayonet
Here is my AK bayonet #2 :-)
It is a Romanian AKM Type I, or at least I think that's what it is.
Scabbard has a 2 piece hanger, but top piece is missing. Overall, both bayonet and scabbard are in pretty good shape. Matching serial numbers.
Here are my questions:
1. Stamp on cross guard - triangle ...

Re: Is it Russian or Finnish AK47 bayonet?
Hi rakysk. Welcome to the forum.
This AK47 bayonet looks like it has been issued and used, but still in decent condition. From what I can see in the pictures, It was manufactured at the Izhevsk arsenal in Russia to fill an export contract with Finland. This can be confirmed by the arrow in ...

Hello everyone,
my first post here :-) I collect mostly WWII era and older bayonets, but found this AK47 bayonet and ......I like it.
Online search brought me here and after going thru several posts, I narrowed it down that it is Russian or Finnish bayonet and scabbard (well, at least I hope).
