Thanks Martin. It's good to know my basic ID of the knife was about right, largely thanks to this place.
Any idea what the other two marks on the side of the guard are, and rough age?

Have included pics with hanger, but alas no hand strap.

Couple more.

So, question is, have I identified it right?
Any idea re it's history?
Is mixing of scabbards and bayonets fairly common?
Shame it's missing the hand strap.

Up until last week I knew nothing of Soviet, or in fact any ComBloc bayonets. My collection to date is mainly 19th & 20th century European pieces..... .....but saw this bayonet at my local auction and decided to have a punt, and got it. After some research online, and thanks mainly to this site,...
